Would you like to Apply to our mutual aid program?

  • The TRAPs invite any Two-spirit, non-binary, trans and gender-diverse person who is affected by transmisogyny* to apply for our Mutual aid. You should apply if you don't have access to intergenerational wealth, student loans and bursaries, or do not have a stable income and. We welcome applications from across Turtle Island// North America.

We also welcome especially BIPOC who are affected by transmisogyny to apply, who will be prioritized -see further information in "how are recipients selected?"

  • Since our funds are at the moment extremely limited, we are trying to give sufficient funds to our community members. This will change in the future, depending on our capacities and our fundraising activities. If you have any requests or special needs, don't hesitate to write directly to us on our email or social media platforms.

  • The Mutual aid collective will select the recipients during our next meeting. We will prioritize recipients according to two criteria. We will also select them following the order of the reception of the applications. The applications are an on-going process and if you are not selected right away, you will be kept in the process. There is no selection by merit, but we will allow the MUTUAL AID committee to refuse an application. The two criteria are:

    1) The TRAPs want to build a network of solidarity and mutual aid. So, we will first prioritize people that have organized in the TRAPs network in the last year, to a maximum of 50% of the total applications. People who come to our activities but do not organize won't be prioritized.

    2) The TRAPs understand how systemic issues affect access to safety and empowerment. So, we will prioritize Black, Indigenous, and trans femme and women of Color in all of our applications.

Money will be given to (1) BIPOC TRAPs organizers, (2) Black, Indigenous, Trans Women of Color and people affected by transmisogyny outside the organization (3) white TRAPs organizers and (4) white trans women and people affected by transmisogyny.

  • The MUTUAL AID project is 100% volunteer-run, as our collective, and we do not make one penny from organizing. 30% of our zine surplus (who will come up late spring/summer) will go to our general mutual aid and we are receiving money through our website directed toward the mutual aid fund.
